Okay friends, I have no idea if this is just me… or if this is something that other people feel… but I freaking LOVE stockings. Growing up it didn’t matter what was in the stocking, but unloading a stocking on Christmas morning gave me such a thrill as a kid. Of course all the best things from childhood are something I try and hold on to… so I think stockings are the most thrilling part of Christmas morning. We also had really deep stockings that my Nanny made for us (which speaking of, I really need to get this pattern from her!), so it was a true hunt to get to the bottom to see what was in the stocking.
The one downside to stockings I’ve noticed as I’ve grown older is that sometimes stocking stuffers are looked at as “filler items” vs something of “value”. And I don’t mean monetary value, more “something that I’ll use in my life”. Silly putty was great as a kid, but these days I’d rather than $7 be spent on a travel sized dry shampoo. Well now I’m putting my foot in my mouth because there is an adult “play dough” that I found at a boutique the other day and it was such a stress release to play with the dough.
So let’s dive into stocking stuffer gifts that will bring a smile to Christmas morning… but keep on giving all year long when you can use the gifts in your day-to-day life.
