If you haven’t checked the calendar lately, January is nearing an end… It’s a bit hard to swallow that we’re a month into 2019, but nonetheless it’s time to start paying attention to the upcoming holidays! First comes Super Bowl, then comes Valentine’s Day. I know some people think Valentine’s Day is a bit overrated, but it’s a fun reason to celebrate! The key is to partake in celebrations that don’t break the bank (read: do not send your lover flowers on Valentine’s Day, this is dumb and a waste of money). If you’re looking for a Valentine’s Day date ideas in Dallas Fort Worth, then you’ve come to the right place. And if these ideas don’t flip your switch, I’ve linked a few other date posts below.

11 Valentine’s Day Date Ideas in Dallas Fort Worth
1. Dinner and a Movie, with a Twist
If you haven’t been to Alamo Drafthouse, you’re doing it wrong. This is my favorite movie theatre in DFW. They have a delicious menu (and drink offerings tbh), comfortable seating and a great selection of movies, all without costing you an arm and leg to experience. Seriously, what’s the with the $20+ movie tickets these days? I digress… This Valentine’s Day season there are a few special showings around DFW including Bridesmaids and Moulin Rouge. I’m personally dying to see Glass, The Upside and On the Basis of Sex.
2. Progressive Dinner in a New Area of Town
Have you explored all of the cool new areas of the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex? Like Plano’s Legacy West? Or The Hill at Walnut Hill and 75? Or an oldie but a goodie, Shops at Park Lane near Northpark? Find a new area (because #ADVENTURE) and pick 3 places to try there. Start with a location for light bites and a drink, move on to dinner and end with dessert. Here are a few ideas if you need more help.
Shops at Park Lane // Drinks: Bar Louie Dinner: Grimaldi’s Pizzeria Dessert: Bowl and Barrel
The Hill // Drinks: Civil Pour Dinner: Hat Creek Burger Company Dessert: Cross the highway and go to Frost Gelato
Legacy West // Drinks: Haywire Restaurant Dinner: Fogo de Chao Dessert: Legacy Hall
Addison // Drinks: Chamberlains Fish Market Grill Dinner: Republic Dessert: Chamberlain’s Steak and Chop House
3. Spa Day (or Night)
Nothing beats an hour (or so) of pure relaxation. Spoil your lover and schedule a couple of massage at Vivian’s Boutique Spa, or some foot massages at Yaya Foot Spa. Shoot, better yet, both!
4. Escape the Valentine’s Day Date Cliches
Sorry for being punny (but not really). Book an escape room at PanIQ Escape Room with your boo and a few friends. It’s a true adrenaline rush to see if you can get out of the themed room, and just how quickly. No pressure, but we made it out of the Zombie Outbreak Room in 20 minutes with zero hints…
5. Get a Room
You know the whole “cliche prom night get a hotel room” scenario (that most of us probably never lived)? Live it now. Book a hotel room and spend the evening with your boo in total privacy. Order room service for dinner. Wear a comfy robe. Turn off your phones. Just be together. A few of my favorite Dallas Fort Worth hotels are: The Adolphus in downtown Dallas, Omni Fort Worth, Gaylord Hotel in Grapevine and Aloft Richardson.
6. Get a Little Competitive
Spend the evening competing with each other in your favorite arcade games. Order a pizza, have a few beers and enjoy the laid back atmosphere of Regeneration Arcade.
7. Take a Long Weekend Road Trip
A quick drive north to Chocktaw Casino and Resort Durant will give you an out of the ordinary weekend (vibe: Vegas) without having to spend a ton of money on travel. Play some games, enjoy the spa, dine and drink the weekend away with you boo.
8. Brewery Tours with Your Boo
If there is one thing DFW isn’t short of, it’s breweries. Whether you’re a beer or cider couple, you can find a cool spot on this BREWERY LIST to celebrate the holiday with a few cold ones.
9. Get Your Hands Dirty in the Kitchen
One of my favorite date nights of all times is cooking with Austin. Take a page out of our book of secrets and channel your inner Italian at Taste Buds Kitchen. Full class description below:
Surprise your Valentine with a romantic date. With a fresh and vibrant menu, we will take you on a delicious tour of home-made Italian favorites. We’ve collected the country’s best staples and will teach you the basics to make a tasty Chicken Parmesan, a decadent Wild Mushroom & Truffle Oil Risotto, perfectly sweet pink Cannoli and more. Bring your loved one and share a special evening in our Kitchen! BYOB.
10. Tour de Ice Cream
Share a scoop of ice cream at some of tastiest ice cream spots around DFW. A few “musts” on your list should include: Sweet Firefly, Howdy Homemade, Chills 360, Milk Cream and Baldo’s Scoop Shop Cafe (full disclosure, I haven’t tried this one myself, but have heard amazing things).
11. Make a Reservation
There is nothing wrong with making a reservation at your favorite dinner spot around Dallas Fort Worth… Or a new restaurant! Here are a few of my favorites: Best Places to Eat by Cuisine.
