I am a huge fan of the knee high boot trend but have struggled to find boots wide enough for my calves. Add in the fact that I also have a wider foot, it’s been a struggle to find wide calf wide foot boots. I’ve been ordering a variety of boot styles (extra wide calf boots, wide calf western boots, wide calf white boots, brown, black, heeled, flat, etc!) and brands to find what works for me. I figured why not share my findings (good and bad) to hopefully help your search!
My goal is that these wide calf fit reviews can help cut down on your order, return, order, exchange time a bit. Some of these brands just offered wide calf, while others had extra wide calf boots. I made sure to notate that in the reviews! I also wear a size 10 shoe (wide when it’s available) for reference.
As I get the chance to try more wide calf wide foot boots, extra wide, western, etc, boots this fall, I will be sure to update the blog post accordingly!

Reviewing Wide and Extra Wide Calf Boots for Fall
Before I dive in with each boot and the review, I wanted to share my calf measurements. At the fullest, my calf is around 18.5 inches and my ankles are around 10 inches.
Vince Camuto Sangeti Wide Calf Boot
These are a high quality boot that will keep your feet comfortable all day long! This particular boot is actually a sample, as I was able to help the Vince Camuto team create extra wide calf options in a few boot styles. The last I was told is that this style was going to be slightly larger in the shaft than the sample, but I haven’t gotten my hands on the final boot. Dream Cloud Stitch-Detail Western Wide Calf Boot
These are a good option for those looking for a wide calf wide foot boots. This cognac boot is available in sizes 7-13. It has a pointed toe and 2″ block heel. The zipper goes all the way down on the inside of the boot for easy on and off. The sole of the foot is also wide, which is great for those who need extra space in the calf and foot! Plus you’ll find an additional 5mm of cushion padding for extra comfort, hence the “dream cloud”. You can shop these western boots in wide calf and extra wide calf at Lane Bryant. Dream Cloud Croco Faux-Leather Heel Tall Boot
This is a pair of wide calf wide foot boots that caught my eye in store, but I haven’t tried them on in my size. However, Lane Bryant typically is a retailer that I can shop for wide calf boots with no fit issues. So, more on this wide calf boot style coming soon! Saffron Knee High Boots in Marigold Suede
If you are looking for a high quality pair of boots to last you for many years, you have to check out Duo Boots. This brand creates boots in different calf sizes so you can get as close to a custom fit as possible. This particular knee high boot style comes in calf sizes 30cm to 50cm to accommodate narrow, standard and wide calf fit. Journee Collection Karima Wide Calf Boot
I ordered these in a wide calf not realizing there was also an extra wide calf option. While they zip up, they are TIGHT. I thought I was going to snag my skin as I zipped them up. It looks like there’s a tiny bit of length that I’m losing due to the snugness, but I can’t tell for 100%. They are also really tight on my foot, not something I would personally be okay wearing. Lesson learned, I need the extra wide calf boots for my calves! As far as the look of the boot goes, I really like the contrast of the dark heel and sole with the off white boot.
These wide calf knee high boots come in black, cognac, off white and red. It comes in sizes 6-12. They are square toed and have a 3 inch block heel. These boots zip the entire length of the boot. Journee Collection Daria Extra Wide Calf Boot
This boot is a little snug on my foot, but nothing too crazy. I love the fit throughout my calf and that it goes all the way up to the bottom of my knee. There is a little bunching around the ankle, but this is the most minimal it’s been on any boots I’ve tried so far. They were out of my size in white when I originally ordered, so I’d be curious to see if the bunching is noticeable on the lighter color or not. All this said, I feel like this is a boot that is worth the money for me.
This boot style comes in dark brown, off white, red and tan. They are available in sizes 6-12. The Daria boot has a 3.35 inch heel and a pointed toe. They zip up the full boot length. Journee Collection Therese Extra Wide Calf Boot
The Journee Therese boot is a little snug on my foot, but it fits and I can walk around without pain. It fits easily over my calves and goes up just under my knee. My only concern with this boot is that the material is a little flimsy and bunches up around my ankles. The boots come in sizes 6-12, and you can choose between green or off white.
The heel is 3.25 inches and the toe is pointed. I love the unique v detailing on the front of this boot. This zipper goes from foot to just above the ankle. You can get this boot style in both wide and extra wide calf. You can shop these extra wide calf white boots at Walmart, DSW, Kohl’s, JCPenney and Macy’s.
Journee Signature Laila Leather Boot
The quality of these white wide calf boots feels fantastic. Unfortunately the calf runs small and they don’t zip up on my left calf. These boots are available in brown, off white, black and crock. They come in sizes 6-12. The block heel is 3 inches and it’s an almond pointed toe. You can shop at Journee.
Journee Signature Pryse Leather Western Boot
Another high quality extra wide calf knee high boot option! I didn’t love the white on me, as they are pretty snug. I think the black color would work better with the wrinkling. These almond toe white wide calf boots are available in sizes 6-12, wide and extra wide. They come in bone, black and nude. The block heel is 2.5 inches and is a pull on style boot. These boots zip the entire length of the boot. You can shop at Journee.
Gen N Align Wide Calf Boot
While these zip on my calves, they don’t fit the greatest. These wide calf boots are available in sizes 5.5-12. They come in chocolate brown, black and cab sav leather. The heel is 3.25 inches. These boots have an almond toe and a partial zip closure. You can shop these boots at Naturlizer.
Frank Sarto Katherine Wide Calf Tall Boot
This white knee high boot is wide calf, but it’s a bit snug on my calves! I’m going to wear them awhile to see if the stretch out and I will report back! The almond toe paired with 3.5″ heel is a great combo. The boots come in four different colors. The material is a stretch suede or faux stretch leather partially made from recycled materials You can shop it at Famous Footwear.
ASOS DESIGN Wide Fit Andi Flat Western Boots in Black
I really wish this boot was taller! It fits wonderfully on my wide foot and on my wide calf. I’m just looking for more of a knee high boot and this hits me mid shin. If height isn’t top of your list of things you’re looking for and you just want a black western boot for wide feet and wide calves, order this one!! Honestly, I’m still debating if I should keep it and try to make it work because this hunt is exhausting.
This black western boot comes in sizes 4-13. It is a slip on boot style that has pull tabs to assist with putting it on. They have a low block heel and a pointed toe. You can shop the $70 wide calf western boots at ASOS.
Knee High Boot Styling Ideas
