When your family and friends come to Dallas to visit you, I dare you to take them to one of the most unique restaurants in Dallas, instead of the trendy Dallas spots. I took my own advice and started taking people to places that weren’t the most traditional, but rather places that would be unlike anything they could find in their own hometown. If your pals are anything like mine, they’re going to sing your praises. PS- these would also make for some great unique date night restaurants!
5 of My Favorite Unique Restaurants in Dallas
DogHaus | Richardson and Arlington
One of the most unique restaurants in Dallas to eat at, hands down. I am always taking visitors here and no one is ever less than impressed. The menu has lots of great options- even for vegetarians! I would recommend you share a few sides for the table vs everyone ordering their own. My favorite sides, in order, are: onion rings, tater tots, sweet potato fries and french fries.
Address: 744 S Central Expy #210, Richardson, TX 75080 and 4000 Bagpiper Way Suite 110, Arlington, TX 76018
Piada Italian Street Food | CityLine, Plano and Frisco
The best advice I can give you is to order the Crispy Chicken BLT Piada. I mean, LIFE CHANGING, y’all.
Address: 1551 E Renner Rd #800, Richardson, TX 75082, 3309 Dallas Pkwy, Plano, TX 75093 and 3301 Preston Rd #1, Frisco, TX 75034
Ferris Wheelers | Dallas Design District
Where else can you get a plate of Texas BBQ, a cold local beer and then ride a ferris wheel? No where (err, at least no where else that I know of!).
Address: 1950 Market Center Blvd, Dallas, TX 75207
Super Chix | CityLine, Frisco and Addison
Okay, this might seem a little basic, but I love taking people to Super Chix! It’s a great fast casual spot where you can get amazing chicken, multiple ways. Whether it’s a salad, grilled chicken sandwich, chicken tenders… paired with fried pickles (arguably my favorite in Dallas) and french fries.
Address: 9169 Dallas Pkwy Suite 100, Frisco, TX 75034, 14999 Preston Rd Suite 226, Dallas, TX 75254 and 1551 E Renner Rd Suite 830, Richardson, TX 75082
Legacy Food Hall | Plano Legacy West
Legacy Food Hall is basically a playground for foodies. Pro-tip: everyone in your group go to a different food spot. Treat it like a family style gathering and taste a little bit of everything without having to order it all for yourself. The food hall itself is a unique concept, but there are tons of other unique restaurants in Dallas Fort Worth that have a presence there. Experience as much as you can!
