I know not everything can be purchased from a small store, but when the choice comes to buy the same product from a local boutique or a big retailer, I choose small. Shopping local doesn’t always mean products… it can mean experiences, too! Whether it’s a night out to dinner in a new DFW restaurant, or seeing a show, there are plenty of things to gift in DFW! Here are a few of my favorite ways to “shop local” this Christmas season.

Have a Spa Day at Vivian’s Boutique Spa in Lower Greenville

I am a huge stan of Vivian’s Boutique Spa, but that’s no secret. It’s one of my favorite places to get a massage in DFW. The CBD massage cannot be beat, trust me. Beyond massages, Vivian’s in Lower Greenville offers manicures, pedicures and facials. A big bonus in my book: huge, comfy robes. Ain’t nobody got time for robes that are tiny!! Plus they greet you with “what can I get you to drink?”. Whether you give the gift of a service to someone, or decide to treat yo’ self and someone you love to a spa day, you can’t go wrong with Vivian’s.

Give the Gift of Fitness

Okay so maybe this is poor timing considering the recent Peloton commercial backlash (ps- what did you think of it?!), but I think giving the gift of a class pack is a great idea! You could give the gift of an unlimited month somewhere, a class pack or even equipment or merch specific to the studio! May I suggest SESSION Pilates in Dallas for reformer pilates or Rush Cycle in Frisco for spinning? Of course if your friend/lover/child/mom has a favorite studio already, be sure to buy there! Recovery options are also a good idea! I couldn’t recommend IV Therapy in Dallas for IVs and shots more.

Vintage Fashion, Home Goods and Accessories at Flea Style

There are now two Flea Style locations, the original store in Deep Ellum and the new store at The Star in Frisco. Both stores have amazing selections of home goods, vintage fashion, accessories, game day apparel and more. Plus when you go pick up the gift or gift card, you can snap a quick picture in front of the murals!

Dinner and Drinks at Favorite Local Restaurant

Whether it’s somewhere casual + unique like SuperChix, or somewhere a little fancier like Taverna, keep the local love going by gifting a gift card/certificate to a delicious Dallas Fort Worth restaurant or bar.

I own so many tees and hats from local Frisco business, Tumbleweed TexStyles, so I can say with confidence this is one of the most fun local gifts to give someone this Christmas. You can’t go wrong, for guys or gals, with the Big X Texas Hat. Or the Texas Girl tank I’m wearing below.

Staycation Getaway

Have you ever been to The Adolphus in Downtown Dallas? If you have, you know why gifting a staycation at The Adolphus is an amazing gift idea! They have great food on site (10/10 recommend City Hall for brunch and French Hall for pre-dinner drinks!) + the hotel is such a fun place to be.
