If you’re anything like me and my husband, one of the biggest roadblocks we face for having date nights is choosing what to do. To help us make date nights happen, I started keeping a running list of date ideas in Dallas as I thought of them. Instead of keeping those date night ideas to myself, I wanted to share with you! These are the romantic date ideas in Dallas that I have on our radar. I will be sure to update the list as we go on our own romantic date night in Dallas, and as I add more to our list.
PS- be sure to follow @SBE.Dallas on Instagram and TikTok for more fun around DFW!
30 Romantic Date Ideas in Dallas Fort Worth
While most of these romantic date ideas are in Dallas, there are some in the suburbs. I tried to keep everything in the Dallas bubble of DFW, though!
Get Physical On A Romantic Date Night in Dallas
Use Your Hands at Texas Wine and Wood
Sign up for an open workshop, or one of their themed events to create wood based signs/artwork. From porch signs, to corn hole boards, they offer a variety of options to fit everyone’s style. Take Dancing Lessons at Studio 22
How could I share romantic date ideas in Dallas without sharing a place to dance together?! Dancing is one of the most sensual ways to spend time together if you ask me. Studio 22 offers both private dance lessons and group classes, in styles such as Ballroom, Salsa, Latin and more. Get ready to move those hips!
Enjoy a Couples Spa Experience at Vivian’s Spa
Nothing beats an hour (or so) of pure relaxation. Spoil your lover and schedule a couple of massage at Vivian’s Boutique Spa. Follow it up with their special foot ritual and a facial to make a whole day out of it. Vivian’s is one of the best spas in DFW and my first suggestion when someone asks for an elevated massage recommendation. Plus the luscious robes and beverage before (and between) services? It doesn’t get much better. Follow Vivian’s on Instagram to see how cozy the spa is.

Texas Ballet Theatre
Texas Ballet Theatre performs at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, as well as the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth. While there is not a specific dress code, the evening shows are typically a bit more formal.
Dallas Summer Musicals
The Dallas Summer Musicals is one of my favorite ways to see a show. They perform shows at the Music Hall at Fair Park and AT&T Performing Arts Center. As far dress code goes, Broadway Dallas recommends business attire or casual business attire. Some patrons attend dressed in evening wear for evening weekend shows.
Other Live Shows
Be sure to check out the schedules for Majestic Theatre in downtown, Dallas, AT&T Performing Arts Center and Moody Performance Hall in the Arts District.
Movie Night at Alamo Drafthouse
Why go to any ole dinner and a movie when you can go to Alamo Drafthouse? This isn’t your average order food and enjoy a movie on the big screen cinema, it’s elevated. From the hand picked locations, to the vibey decor when you walk in, to the mouth watering drool worthy would take pics if I could food, it’s spectacular. If you have some time to plan, look for the unique events like weekend brunch or the movie parties. Sure to be a hit.
Drive-In Movie Theatre
Drive in movies are so underrated! It’s way easier to sneak a kiss in the car than sitting in the movie theatre, don’t ya think? The Coyote Drive-In is in Fort Worth at Panther Island.
Movies at Griggs Park
Uptown Dallas Inc will host movie nights at the park throughout the year. You can check out what movies are showing and when on their website and Instagram.

Grab Cocktails on The Mexican Patio
The Mexican is fairly new to Dallas (well, depending on when you’re reading this), but it’s caught my eye as a must visit! The ambiance is sexy, yet relaxing. The menu has quite a variety of options for you and your date to choose from. They also have a great drink menu and a gorgeous patio. Check out their Facebook and Instagram to see what I’m talking about. PS- Make sure you check our the dress code, because it would be a huge bummer to be turned away.

Use dinner and drinks as an excuse to dress up and hit the town. You’ll enjoy craft cocktails and delicious food in one of my new favorite places in Dallas.

Enjoy the View from Reunion Tower
One of my personal favorite views of Dallas comes from the top of Reunion Tower. I suggest going right before sunset that way you can see the view in the daylight, during sunset and lit up at night. It’s such a beautiful way to spend some quality time with your partner. You can follow the romantic viewing with dinner in the area (hopefully the dining options at Reunion Tower open back up soon!).
Visit Grandscape at The Colony
Grandscape is a newer shopping center with quite a few options for food and entertainment . For a romantic date night in DFW, you could start with dinner at the new Arkira Back, then get cozy and enjoy the Texas views from the Grandscape Wheel. PS- the gondolas are air conditioned, so you can even enjoy them in the summer without getting too sweaty. After the ride, grab a unique ice cream cookie sandwich from the Baked Bear.
Take a Cruise on the Mandalay Canals in Irving
Want to feel like you’ve traveled across the world to a romantic city, when in reality you’ve only driven to a different part of the metroplex? If you answered yes, then the Mandalay Canals in Irving need to be added to your list as a potential romantic date night in DFW! They offer classic gondola rides, as well as a special Italian dinner cruise and a dessert cruise. Be sure to follow them on Instagram and Facebook for more info.
PS- You can also bring wine or champagne for your cruise and they will provide the bucket and ice, corkscrew and glasses for an $11 charge. And sometimes you can find them on Groupon to save some money.
Go For a Stroll Around Downtown Plano
I feel like the suburbs of Dallas get overlooked when it comes to date night ideas. There is so much fun to be had walking around in the historic downtown areas of places like Plano. You can pop in and out of shops and restaurants, or just stroll through the downtown for the evening. If you’re looking for a tasty meal, I would suggest trying Urban Seafood Company!
Watch the Sunset at White Rock Lake

Honestly, picnics are one of the all time greatest ways to spend a romantic date night in Dallas. And have you been to the Dallas Arboretum? It is breathtaking.
