Over the last year I have really enjoyed exploring the world of small business swimwear brands! Quite a few of the brands are woman owned, sustainable swimsuits and some offer extended sizing. I love the creativity in the cuts and prints of these small business swimsuit brands. They feel a bit more one of a kind than the big box retailer swimsuits.
As with shopping small business in any industry, it’s important to remember that there’s a reason the price points a little higher than what you’d pay at some other stores. But you are getting a higher quality piece- often sustainable swimsuits- and you are directly helping the business owner and their family with your purchase.
I’m a big fan of always sharing about brands I love with friends or strangers, but every extra shoutout online or in person helps these small business swimwear brands build. So don’t be afraid to tell your friends, post online, leave a review, help a stranger find their website when they compliment your suit at the beach, etc! Kitty and Vibe is one of my favorite woman opened small business swimsuit brands! The owner, Cameron, is so passionate about what she’s doing… and she’s doing some amazing things! Kitty and Vibe suits are designed in NYX, the fabric is digitally printed in Bogota, Columbia and moves to a family owned factory in Bogota and produced in small batches. They’re a swimwear brand that helps instill the importance of self love and body confidence.
Kitty and Vibe sizing for bottoms is different than anything I’ve come across. The Kitty Size takes into account your hips and butt to make sure that bottoms aren’t too skimpy or too saggy! Sizing starts at small (with 2 variations) and goes to 5XL. Bikini tops go up to H cup– I wear J and can wear the H cup in the scoop style, for reference!

Youswim
Youswim is a small business swim brand made in England. They are an innovated brand creating one size to fit 7 different sizes (more on that below). They offer 4 main styles of swimsuits and within that you can find shorts, low rise bottoms, high rise bottoms and one piece options. There are lots of gorgeous to colors to chose from! In their words, the fabric is a EU-sourced premium quality nylon yarn. This reduces material transportation emissions, is produced within EU labour, manufacturing, safety and waste management regulation and ensures a long-lasting swimsuit that will avoid landfill by continuing to stretch and adapt to you for many summers.
Youswim sizing is one size fits “quite a few”. There is one size that is advertised to comfortably from a 2-14, however I personally would said it’s more like size 18. I am a size 14/16 and still feel like it would be fine if I go up in size or wanted to let someone a size or two larger borrow it. There is a second suit size that is said to fit sizes 14-24. Wild Isles
Wild Isles, a small business swimwear brand created by two busty besties, is women’s swimsuits for d cups and up! They’ve made it their mission to make better options for fuller busts- and for that, I am thankful. Also, Wild Isles swimsuits are made from fabric is made in Italy of 100% regenerated nylon. The bikini tops are adjustable and underwire free. The high underarm coverage and convertible straps are some of the best features!

The Cheeky Bikini
This woman owned small business swimsuit brand is extra sexy, The Cheeky Bikini! As you could have guessed by the name, The Cheeky Bikini is your new go to for fun, cheeky swim. I love these high waisted cheeky bikini bottoms more than I expected to. The cut is just *chefs kiss*! I know the name says bikini, but they also have a one piece style that is adorable.

HallaxHalla is a small business swimsuit brand that believes in ethical, sustainable and durable swimwear pieces. To learn more about the journey of collecting, recycling, manufacturing and packing. Not to mention their swimsuits are truly some of the most unique prints I’ve ever seen. They believe we are all wonderfully unique in our ways, so why shouldn’t our swimwear reflect that?
