14 Fun Date Ideas in Dallas Fort Worth
Nothing says summer in Texas like these triple degree temps! With this being my fifth summer in Dallas Fort Worth, I’m finally getting the hang of how to beat the heat… and this summer, I’m bringing my boyfriend along for all of the activities! From ice cream to staycations to date jar ideas, these 14 fun date ideas in Dallas Fort Worth are sure to spice up our dating life.
Frisco RoughRiders Party At The Yard

Thursday night baseball games complete with a lazy river, unlimited food, access to $1 beers… does life getting any sweeter than this? There are only a few PATY games left this summer, so plan your game ASAP!
Dallas Museum of Art
If you’ve never had a chance to check out the art and museum scene in Dallas, do it with your S/O! It doesn’t have to be a boring date, trust me. There are different programs and exhibits that make it interesting for all types of people to enjoy.
Uptown Trolley
Take a trip up and down McKinney Ave in Uptown with the help of the trolley. It’s free and you can hop on and off at your leisure. It’s the perfect excuse to enjoy being outside without having to walk around in the heat. There are plenty of hot Uptown spots you can stop at for food, drink and dessert. Or people watching if you’re like me 😉
National Video Game Museum
As a non-gamer, I was skeptical about visiting my first time. I figured my attention span would last an hour, if that, but I ended up having to be kicked out at closing time! From the arcade room, where classics like Ms. Pac-Man live, to the 90s bedroom replica where you get to play old school Mario Bros, every minute is well spent. The only thing that makes it better is if you have someone to share the experience with (read: take your picture).
Taste Buds Kitchen in Plano
Nothing screams “romantic date” quite like learning to cook together. Classes range from brunch to Mexican and everything in between. Ladies and gents, if your S/O swears by microwave meals, suggest this date night as a secret way to have meals made for you in the future!
Take a Gondola Ride
No need to trek across the world to ride on a romantic gondola… Just get in your car and head to Irving! They offer classic gondola rides, as well as a special Italian dinner cruise.
Progressive Dinner in Deep Ellum

Warning, a little bit of walking in the heat is required for this one, but I promise it’s not that much! Start at Stirr to enjoy drinks, apps and a gorgeous view of Dallas. Once you’re finished, walk to Harlowe MXM and order a burger (or something else if you don’t trust my expert opinion). Then head to Jeni’s for ice cream in DFW. End your evening by catching a ride to The Adolphus for a nightcap at The French Room.
The Escape Game in The Colony

If you like a little challenge and competition, this is just what you need to check out! We love doing these sorts of activities in large groups of couples, boys vs girls in one of the head to head competition rooms is my absolute favorite. You can also really test your communication as a couple and try it with just the two of you! There are plenty of different rooms to choose from at The Escape Game, so you can plan to go back multiple times. Did I mention you’re in the AC? WINNING.
Live Music
There are plenty of venues around DFW that offer live music– both free and ticketed. You can check out Texas Lottery Live Concert Series in Irving or CityLine Live in Richardson. Check out this post for more free music venues.
TopGolf
If you’re competitive, I highly recommend placing bets on a few rounds of TopGolf. It’s not the cheapest date in the world, but damn is it it fun.
The Star in Frisco

The Star in Frisco is fun for all to enjoy- even if you aren’t a Cowboys fan. With plenty of food in the area, you can do a tour of the Star, eat dinner and spend the evening out without ever moving your car from the parking garage. There is also an Omni Hotel, so if you’re feeling really fancy, I recommend booking a staycation.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema
Why go to any ole dinner and a movie when you can go to Alamo Drafthouse? This isn’t your average order food and enjoy a movie on the big screen cinema, it’s elevated. From the hand picked locations, to the vibey decor when you walk in, to the mouth watering drool worthy would take pics if I could food, it’s spectacular. If you have some time to plan, look for the unique events like weekend brunch or the movie parties. Sure to be a hit.
White Rock Lake
If you like the water, this is a no brainer. Check out all that White Rock Lake has to offer, including Paddle Boarding.
Reunion Tower Observation Deck
My favorite view of Dallas comes from the top of Reunion Tower. I suggest going right before sunset that way you can see the view in the daylight, during sunset and lit up at night.
OH MY GOSH! You killed this list! So many things I want to try now!! Thank you for creating this!!
